The book Invisible Years was published in the spring of 2020, written by Daphne Geismar, the granddaughter of Chaim and Fifi de Zoete-Polak, the couple who found refuge in the Organ Attics during the Second World War. The author takes us through the events in the lives of the De Zoete and Polak families (her grandparents) as well as of the Geismar family (her in-laws).
This impressive book contains a large amount of illustrations, including the photo shown here: Chaim de Zoete (left) at the end of the 1930s, working as a pharmacist in the service of the municipality of Rotterdam.
